Trieste Phillipps

About Me

Mrs. Phillipps graduated from BYU in 2000 and began working for the Salt Lake City School District. She taught Kindergarten for 9 years, 4 years teaching in the bilingual Spanish Kindergarten program, 4 years teaching full day Kindergarten and 1 year teaching a half-day Kindergarten at one school and ELP at another school. She has been teaching for 9 years as an ELP teacher.

She completed her Masters Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Early Education and Gifted/Talented Education in 2004.  She has endorsements in Early Childhood Education, Gifted/Talented Education, an ESL (English as a Second Language) and Bilingual Education. Mrs. Phillipps loves being at Escalante!  She loves to teach the ELP children and watch them learn and grow year after year.  Mrs. Phillipps also works with the lower grades teaching advanced learners in discovery groups and she is one of the teachers that run the student council at our school.

She is also a mom of 4 children!  She has 2 girls ages 13 and 11 and 2 boys ages 7 and 5.  Being a full-time ELP teacher at Escalante and Washington and a full-time mom keeps her busy, but she also loves being outdoors in nature, hiking and playing with her children and visiting with friends.  She loves playing the piano and dancing!  She tries to get her children to dance a little bit everyday before heading out the door to go to school or before she leaves for work!  Life is all about the journey, work hard, play hard, make mistakes, learn from them and enjoy every moment that you can with the ones that you love!
