Week #1        March 30 – April 3           Digital Citizenship:   Cyber Bullying     (Media Literacy;  Strand 10: Awareness, modern citizenship and informed decision making; Standards a,b)

  2. Click on the appropriate grade lesson for your classroom
  3. Complete the activities for your grade level which may include videos, worksheets, and family activities.

Week #2     Begin April 6 – End May 1        Reading Engagement   (Reading Engagement Strand 1: Reading For Personal and Emotional Growth; Standards a,b,c,d)  

“Remember the Banner in the Library that says: “Reading Gives You a Place to to When You Have to Stay Where You Are” 

Keep a list of all the places you go in your reading. When we get back together we will make a list of all the places we’ve been! Different countries, different planets, different places (like school, parks, stores, etc) Make a list!  Let’s see how many places we can go in the next 30 days! Do you think we can make a list of 500 places? KEEP READING and let’s find out! 

Week #3         April 13 – April 17          Research Activity     (Information and Research;   Strand 4: Identifying & Finding Information; Standards a,b)

  1. Go to Utah's On Line Library 
  2. Go to World Book Online
  3. Click on the Kids Square (with the balloon)
  4. Go to the Educator Link at the Bottom of the page     Hold the button down and click on TOOLS
  5. Got to WEBQUEST link on the left sidebar.
  6. Scroll down and choose either DOGS or CATS (whichever is your favorite animal)
  7. Complete the activity with a family member and check your answers.
  8. Fill in the Bingo Card Box for this activity and return it to the library when we come back to school for a prize

Week #4         April 20 – April 24           Internet Safety     (Media Literacy;   Strand 10: Awareness, modern citizenship, and informed decision making; Standards a,b,c,d,e)

  1. Go to Ms. Mary’s Computer Lab link below.
  2. Go to LEARN tab on the top of the page
  3. Pull down to INTERNET SAFETY
  4. Complete the activities on all four islands
  5. Fill in the Bingo Card Box for this activity and return it to the library when we come back to school for a prize

Week #5        April 27 – May 1      Reading & Listening    (Reading Engagement;  Strand 1 Reading for Intellectual, Personal, and Emotional Growth; Standards a,b,c,d)

You will be listening to THREE books from three different sources available to you at home!

FIRST BOOK

  1. Download the SORA app to a device if you haven’t already
  2. Log in to Salt Lake City School District
  3. Scroll down to ROAD BOOK JR. AUDIO BOOKS FOR CHILDREN
  4. Choose a book to listen to with someone in your family

SECOND BOOK

  1. Go to UTAH’S ON LINE LIBRARY Link (at the bottom of this page or in the Blue Resource Box to the right)
  2. Under the Reference Collection box click on GALE KIDS INFOBITS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
  3. Scroll down to the LITERATURE box
  4. Choose the BOOKS box
  5. Choose a book to listen to with someone in your family

THIRD BOOK

  1. Go to STORY READ ALOUDS below and click on the address link
  2. Choose a story you would like to hear and listen with a family member

Be Sure to Fill in your Bingo Card for this Activity and Return it to the Library When We Come Back to School for a Prize
