Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Escalante Elementary!

I am thrilled to step into my new role as your principal, and I could not be more excited about the year ahead. Whether your family is returning to our halls or joining us for the very first time, I want you to know how glad we are that you are here. Our staff has spent the summer preparing classrooms, planning lessons, and dreaming up ways to make this the best year yet for every one of our students.

This year, I am focused on three things that matter most: literacy, attendance, and partnership with you, our families.

Literacy is the foundation for everything a child will go on to learn. From our youngest kindergartners sounding out their first words to our sixth graders diving into chapter books and research articles, we are committed to giving every student the skills and the love of reading that will carry them well beyond our classrooms. Our teachers will be using proven strategies and plenty of encouragement to help each child grow as a confident reader and writer.

Attendance is just as essential. Every day your child is with us is a day they learn, connect, and grow alongside their friends. At Escalante Elementary, we want every student to know:

You are an important part of our school family. Your classmates need you, your teachers are excited to see you, and there is a place here just for you!

We know that every school day counts, and we are grateful to the families who make attendance a priority. If there are challenges preventing you from getting your student to school, please reach out to us. We want to work alongside you to help ensure that every Escalante student receives the education they deserve.

Finally, collaboration with our community is one of my biggest priorities. Escalante Elementary is at its best when families, teachers, and neighbors work together. I look forward to meeting many of you at school events throughout the year, hearing your ideas, and building a partnership that supports every child's success.
